Hi! I’m Wilberthe

(pronounced “will-birth”)

I’ve lived in Massachusetts my whole life. I’ve been a nurse since 2014 and I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2019. I’ve spent my whole career so far working with families during the very early postpartum days in the hospital. I’ve been so fortunate to work with and learn from a wide variety of families through this time. I’m passionate about helping people experience nourishment and empowerment during the fourth trimester (the 12 weeks after birth), and am committed to providing respectful, compassionate, collaborative, inclusive care.

I continue to provide nursing and lactation care in the hospital, and Quiet Moon is the manifestation of my long held desire to also work with postpartum families in a different way—outside of the traditional medical model, in their homes.

I’ve participated in birth doula trainings by Warm Welcome Birth Services in Northampton, MA and Ancient Song Doula Services from NYC. I’ve also trained as an abortion doula with the Boston Abortion Support Collective and have supported people having abortions at various facilities in Boston, and those having medication abortions at home. I trained as a postpartum doula with Cornerstone Birthwork Trainings in 2022, and chose to expand upon this knowledge and perspective in 2023 by working through Whole Body Pregnancy’s postpartum doula training as well.

Through the years I’ve also done volunteer work with various community organizations including Collective Power for Reproductive Justice (formerly known as CLPP), the Center for Women and Community at Umass Amherst, the Boston Abortion Support Collective, and the Prison Birth Project. I was also one of the co-founders of the Breastfeeding Equity Center at Boston Medical Center, and I currently serve on the steering committee of Birth Equity and Justice MA (BEJMA).

I live in Cambridge with my partner and our young child. When I’m not working with families I enjoy hiking and camping, barre workouts, trying and learning new things, touching flowers, and staring at bodies of water.

I hope to connect with you soon!
